Epitome of Soul, Inc. Brings the Community Together Around the Arts with Grammy Award-winning Artist Cory Henry

WAYNE, NEW JERSEY August 30, 2016, “Music has the power to bring people together like no other art form,” and we found this statement to be true on August 19, 2016 at non-profit organization, Epitome of Soul’s “Keys and Chords Benefit Concert.” The event, which took place at the Wayne YMCA’s Rosen Performing Arts Center in New Jersey, featured the Epitome of Soul Band, student Christina Gales-Brooks, and two-time Grammy award-winning musician Cory Henry.

“We love having the opportunity to engage with the community around the arts. It’s more than a concert, it’s a collective effort to ensure students in New Jersey have access to arts programs,” says Nailah Butler, Epitome of Soul’s Executive Director. “Each Benefit Concert allows us to engage with community advocates, supporters, and arts enthusiasts all around great music for an even greater cause.”

Since hosting the first benefit concert in March 2012, this past benefit concert marks the 3rd time that Epitome of Soul has held the event in New Jersey. Organization support has increased 200% over the past 3 years and is projected to keep increasing leading up to the next fundraising event, which is the annual Holiday Gala, taking place on December 7, 2016 at the Royal Manor in Garfield, NJ.

As the momentum behind Epitome of Soul continues to grow, they hope to increase their supporter base in the New Jersey and New York areas to support students in urban communities through their arts programs.
